NoGod is a visual kei band with a metal element  formed in 2005 in Tokyo by vocalist Dancho, under the name Shinko Shukyo Gakudan NoGoD.

 

The band's full name means 'The new religion band NoGoD', they call their fans “believers” and their lives “propagation”.

 

The 19th of October 2005, NoGoD held their first live at L@N Akasaka . Soon after, in november, NoGoD released their first demo single “Kimi ni Okuru Bukiyou de Migattena Uta”. The single was sold out on the same day.

After signing with Art Pop Entertainment, they released two singles: "Red Propagation" in july 2006 and "Black Propagation”, the following month.

In 2008, the band released their first studio album "Dream Teachings" which reached No. 6 on the Oricon Indies chart.

The group was voted No. 8 out of 50 of "most promising newcomer" bands in a 2008 among  European J-Rock fans and their single "Atria" is considered by many fans as one of the greatest visual kei singles of all time.

 

In late 2009 NoGod  signed with a major-label King Records and released their first major single “Awaking” which was used as the ending theme for Chūkyō TV's Futtonda.

NoGoD released their first major album, “Fragments" in Japan and Europe in 2010.
